The Big Beautiful Primer of Andrew Garfield and Dev Patel’s Big Beautiful Gay Love
Hello and welcome!! This is a post with some specific moments from this video, so that people looking for more good Andrew Garfield/Dev Patel moments don’t have to dedicate an hour to the whole thing and can just focus on the most important (and gayest) parts! And it’s here so that I don’t have to take up too much space in my Yuletide letter about it. :”) I WOULD recommend watching the full video if you have the time-- it’s fun and there are some bits I didn’t capture in here for the sake of only getting the BEST moments, but if not, this shortlist will definitely do!
Now, said shortlist:
• Dev gazing at Andrew like he’s falling in love for the first time: 0:49-0:52, 1:42-1:47, 1:58-2:02 (with bonus Andrew saying “fucking” and, uh, Dev looking like he’s Into It), 22:26-22:31
• A good moment of eye contact: 6:03-6:05
• A good moment of touching: 18:20
• Shared laughter, more eye contact!: 27:49-27:53
• A good, good conversation about representation, some more good touching and eye contact (and a moment referenced in this post, with the context of Andrew possibly having been fired at least in part because of his wanting Spider-man to be bi/queer; could this be a subtle coming-out strategy? and if so, why is he so intensely focused on Dev for it?? [spoiler alert it’s bc they’re in love]) 37:32-38:39
• A conversation about how Andrew would be open to writing a movie if he got the right story (what if he gets Dev on board for that??) from 50:30-50:51, followed by some more good gazing till 51:44!
• MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART in which they discuss how much they loved Moonlight and wanted Kevin and Chiron to bang at the end and for SOME REASON Andrew deliberately touches Dev when he brings that up???? ???????? BUDDY!!!: 52:25-52:50
• Andrew makes a dumb joke and Dev laughs at it a little too hard: 57:45-57:50
